Professor Ashton

Professor C. Heather Ashton, MD, FRCP, is well known in the benzo community. Her studies focus on the effects of psychotropic drugs such as benzodiazepines, cannabis, and antidpressants, and she is considered a leading expert in the area of benzodiazepine withdrawal.

Professor Ashton holds the position of Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychopharmacology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, where she has worked since 1965.

Professor Ashton continues her efforts to educate about the effects and dangers of benzodiazepines by giving her time to lecture internationally to others.
