Raising my hand. I've had tinnitus and hyperacusis. Both have gotten progressively better as I get lower in dosage. I hope that trend continues when I'm free, because hyperacusis has been my most debilitating symptom.

When the hyperacusis was at its worst, I found this on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC578OQYGf8

It's 9 hours of "pink noise." I'm not sure it helps in the long-run, but it's temporary relief, anyway.

this has also been one of my horrible symptoms.  Mine got worse at 11 months off.  Just like a light switch.  Since then I have been on a 3 day cycle.  Loud, Med and low.  This stayed this way for almost 2 years.  Only had a change in this cycle twice.   At [...] months off, this Nov. it has really started to change.  I am getting 2 quiet days in a row.  So now my cycle is Loud, Med and 2 days of very low.  Its a dream.  My Med day is also a little quieter.  [...] of course back into Hell.  lol  When mine is the Loudest I also have other symptoms.   Mine sounds like sizzling also or a very loud sea shell.  I know it will eventually fade away.  Can't wait for that day.  [...]
Thanks L for starting this post. xo

This weekend I'm going to post some of the data I have collected and talk about Tinnitus maskers and vitamins to take that protect hearing from oxydative glutamate stress and may also actually speed up tinnitus and hyperacusis healing times.

Thanks so much to everyone for coming.

Hey [...], I really love this link. It really helped mask my T.

The Pink Noise utube audio is great.

For those who do not have a white noise machine (they're [...] cheap) a wonderful alternative.

Folks will find it helpful!

I'm glad you started this group, [...]. Maybe you/we will discover a supplement that helps with this horrible condition.

Hi,
I have tinnitus from going off paxil c/t. I swear there's a refrigerator or some kind of appliance
in my left ear. Nothing in the right one. I have no idea...
There's buzzing and hissing too. If I read, or watch tv, I am totally distracted from it.
Playing games on the computer is totally distracting too.
What's with tinnitus? Strange stuff.

Hi [...],  I this is very normal for SSRI withdrawal.  Some people get it just for being on for too many years and their ears just start ringing.  I sure it will go away in time.

Here is my favorite sound mixer on the net.  You can make any frequency you like to much your T (tinnitus)

Then you can export the custom sound and download it.  Then load it onto a cheap MP3 player and melt your T away with the sound playing through a set of ear buds.

Hey [...],

Good thread! I have been plagued with tinnitus since the beginning. It is not IF it will be there but rather how loud it will be on any given day. I was at work [...] and really busy. Making no headway at all b/c I could not hear. I have someone standing directly in front of me talking am I am buzzing at a level that was so loud. I am paradoxical. I came home and took my p.m. dose and abt 1 hour later I am buzzing louder and feeling lousy.

Cheers from Colorado :idiot:

Hi Colorado, I can totally relate to paradoxical reactions.  They say it's when a critical number of receptors have flipped over and are working backwards so benzo's excite some brain areas.  I had it bad when I reinstated. The more I took the more I went into cold turkey, it was FREAKING scary as the benzo's stopped working!!  YIPS!!!    At that point all you [...] is to be experimental by taking lower and higher doses and see what works.  I found that taking one big dose at night ended my paradoxical effects [...] fast and I was stabilizing fast after only 2 weeks.

Are you still going to skydive with me and [...] when your healed?
