Can't sleep? You could have inherited the insomnia gene.

I personally think it's more environmental than genetic, but that's just me.

Nobody else in my family has trouble sleeping. I've also never met another person IRL that has insomnia as bad as I do. The last time I fell asleep even one single night without taking SOMETHING, I was 13 years old.

Good article. Gives me hope  :)

I have always believed it was genetic (but i think everything is genetic) I can lie awake for hours with my mind completely empty, and i vividly remember looking at the other children in nursery school and kindergarten at "nap" time and thinking how strange it was that they were sleeping in the middle of the day.

Luves,

I was like you. And after hitting tolerance and starting my taper, i only slept 1-2 hrs for about 6 weeks.  Then i tried remeron/ mirtazapine. Some hav problems with it, but it really helped me sleep for about 9 months. Then i adapted, so i switched to trazodone, and that iz working now too.

I thi k there ar e people who will always need something.  That is why I. Liked the article.

Be well and good luck,
