« on: January 18, 2013, 09:34:16 am »
I have a phobia in taking any medication since I stopped taking Benzo

I have really bad heartburn and wonder if anyone has taken Zantac or other type drug without problems

Thanks for the feedback Gang

I was on PPIs for a while, they didn't really help my reflux but did give me massive reflux when I stopped taking them!

There's no benzo connection that I'm aware of, but I think that drugs which change (raise) your stomach PH may be pretty dangerous. I've also seen studies showing them to be no more effective than low carb diets for treating reflux; that seems a lot safer.

I also have a phobia in taking any medication since I stopped taking Benzo. I occasionally take ranitidine (zantac) without any problem ... but like to know also.. does it can cause any interactions with benzo WD or not. thanks.

I have been taking 300mg tablets of ranitidine (zantac) for years without any interactions. My wife takes it too for the occassional onset of acid reflux.  Check out the link below for an interactive drug checker.  :)

Becareful if you are taking the Omepazoral version of zantac, rebound acid is a killer coming off.
