How many people HAVE to work while tapering

I HAVE to work. How many people out there are in the same situation. Sometimes I feel it definately helps because work takes my mind off of being sick, but sometimes I wish I could just curl up in a corner and hide all day

I have worked this whole time.  I couldn't agree more that it is a welcome distraction but, some days I do with I could just lay in bed all day....

I didn't have too much of an issue until I hit .25mg and started getting panic attacks while trying to drive to work (~30 miles away) - That was January 2012 in tolerance withdrawal, now 5 months off I can say that for me it got even worse after I tapered.

I hope your taper goes smoothly for everyone at work Bless you guys/gals.

Hey etown

Just for your records I have to work and have been able to throughout my taper. I suppose I might have tapered faster had I not been working but I doubt it effects the overall healing rate all that much

Thanks Bart...I'm having a tougher time since I started this thread but still working. I'm glad to hear you are still at it. Keep going and let me know how you are doing. Gives me the ambition to keep on going.

I definitely feel better on days I don't have to work. Almost all of my holding has been on busy work days. I do believe that working has done little if anything to slow my healing down. Also, the distraction is helpful

being around other people for 8 hours a day and being able to act normal and even make dumb jokes and stuff really helps me remind myself that I'm not insane.

I hear you Spengler, it helps me too, possibly a blessing in disguise. I hope I can say the same thing when this is nearing the end or over. Lets keep this going for those who mneed the encouragement to keep working or get back to work.

always careful.  But even when things are intense here and I can't read any posts, just knowing it's there if needed, gives me comfort as if I have a supportive friend not far away.  Does that make me kinda "off"? lol

we have a stated policy at work that personal browsing is fine as long as I'm not looking at pornography or buying illegal firearms.

I have worked through my taper and now at 4 months off.  I have suffered with horrible physical and mental symptoms the whole time....worst part is waking up every morning at 4 am with crazy cortisol rushes that make things unbearable.  I am a single parent of 3 and have to work to survive.  If it wasn't for my kids...I would have given up by now

Darkside I salute you my friend you are a testament to guts and glory. Your kids are very blessed to have you and when your bad time is over you can spend some real quality time with them.

God Bless You

Lets share our stories here about work or having to work and how it effects our taper, symptoms or just overall experiences.
