[TP...]
I don't know where you got this list of symptoms but I never heard of retardation being a symptom of depression. Dave Perhaps "cog fog" is what was meant? I certainly feel my mental faculties diminish when depressed.
[el...]
Hi Tony, I think that is what is meant by "retardation" too. Don't think it's meant as the politically incorrect term meaning developmentally disabled. Linda
[ge...]
Hi, I have all the above symptoms of depression except for the "retardation." In fact, my brain works in overdrive, so I think what was meant by "retardation" is perhaps slowness in deciding what to do, brain fog and indecision. But, I also have: chemical depression (never was depressed pre-benzos) crying jags feelings that I will only get worse feeling like less than a worthwhile human being fear of being alone, but inability to deal with most people feeling as though there were a black cloud hanging over me severe anhedonia at times feeling as though I'm a burden on others Love, Genie crying when I read a sad story or when someone I know is ill or died
[si...]
you are not a robot anymore - so feelings are surfacing - but if you used to be happy there is no reason to believe you will not be happy again.
