Tart Cherrry Juice for sleep?

Hi Garden Lady,

I take Montmorency concentrated cherry juice every day to help with sleep. I was recommended to the tart cherries by another member. I was originally taking the dried tart cherries from a local health shop but they were quite expensive so a staff member there advised me to try the concentrate.

Initially I found it did help with my sleep but now I'm not so sure. As I've reached the lower doses, my sleep is pretty elusive but I think that's the case for many of us.

The tart cherry juice contains melatonin which is good as a sleep aid so it's worth a try. It also has other health benefits, good for joints etc

Here is a link I found where the tart cherry juice is discussed. I hope it helps.

I just bought some tart cherry juice yesterday and had one glass last night before bed but it didn't seem to do anything, had my usual night of waking up in  2 hrs and then having another restless 3 hrs or so. I will keep trying and see if I notice any difference, thought the melatonin in it might help but maybe its a very weak amount.

It must be popular as the one health food store I checked was sold out.

The tart cherry juice seemed to help for awhile and then I had a day or two that I felt depressed so I stopped. Probably just me. I took 2 tablespoons in the morning and the same an hour before bedtime. It does have really good benefits though. It does have to be the concentrate.
