One big dose of Ativan versus 3 equal doses

Hi Everyone,

 

I have been taking one 1mg dose of Ativan each night. My wife, who is a nurse, suggests I take 3 smaller, equal doses morning, noon, and night. What are your opinions on this?

i'v read on here that that is recommended to keep a consistent supply in your blood.

Silver hit on our reasoning to space the doses out during the day. When the level of benzos in our blood dips, we start experiencing worse withdrawal symptoms. So by keeping the level at an even keel, our withdrawal is more stable.

Many that were originally taking benzos for insomnia just at before going to bed, for example, find that by taking their dose over the course of the day they find withdrawal easier. I think this is because they don't have to cope with the interdose dip on top of the withdrawal. If you do change your routine, do it gradually, moving just a small amount of your dose at a time. Treat it like you would your taper.
