[so...]
I'm not a doctor but I am a person who is fighting all the wd's that go along with a Xanax detox. I've been surprised to read several posts stating that candida was something caused by benzodiazepine use. Over the past few years I too have battled systemic candida from overuse of antibiotics. With certainty I can say the best two items to fight candida is pure apple cider vinegar and coconut oil. If you don't believe just search both items and you'll see what I'm talking about. The apple cider vinegar is great for curing oral thrush and curing bad breath. You can drink a half teaspoon daily and that will get into your gut and kill candida. It is a great anti-fungal. Coconut oil does the same thing. Take one teaspoon each morning and swish for 15mins then rinse and brush. It's kinda gross but I promise you it works. [so...]
Not really sure where this should be posted so I'll leave it up to THE MAN! I've read several posts of fellow sufferes stating they were fighting a candida issue caused by Benzos and the wd's. Doctors usually give an antifungal like diflucan to treat this. One thing to keep in mind is candida is a living fungus much like jock itch and athletes foot and when you start to kill this fungus it will produce toxins that can be quite nasty and make you feel really bag This is actually a good thing but if you kill more fungus than your body can eliminate you begin to feel horrible. If this is the case simply reduce the amount of antifungal you are taking and allow you body to catch up. Symptoms of die off are quite similar to w/d symptoms and can also magnify existing symptoms. Hope this helps.
[St...]
Hi soonerdean, I merged your two threads on Candida, thank you for this information. Can you site any sources for this?
[so...]
Hi Starbird, There are dozens of websites foucsed on candida and it's cure or treatment. You can search "candiad cure" or "candida treatment" or just about anything with similar search terms. You will be blown away at the amount of information listing die off symptoms and what to expect. Also...I know this from my own personal experience. Years of antibiotic use caused an imballance in my gut "flora" causing the candida to explode. WIthout a doubt....the best treatment is to drink a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of pure Apple Cider Vinegar in 8oz of water daily. Depending on how bad a person is infected they will begin to feel the die off symptoms within a few hours. This is a good thing as it indicates that the vinegar is working but a person can really feel bad. It has to be pure "Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother." Another treatment is to take a teaspoon of pure Coconut Oil and swish it around in yout mouth for 15 minutes upon waking. Do this before you drink anything or brush your teeth. A side benefit to teh Coconut oil is this process will also whiten your teeth. BOTH REALLY DO WORK!
[St...]
For many that suffer with systemic Candida, Vinegar in any form can actually exacerbate some of the many symptoms of Candida over-growth. For some, like yourself, perhaps it has a beneficial effect. Yes, coconut oil is great. Garlic, and oil-of-oregano are excellent for many sufferer's. [sh...]
Yes me too to be honest. I think trial and error is the key to what works for you. I have used oregano oil when I was sick and it worked a treat. Yet some of the things I'm trying currently are making me feel like death but I'm hoping are working I think with time all things heal up. Your body has a memory and will fight to get back to normal shania
[sl...]
Shania, How long have u been trying to treat it? I just got started several days ago and symptoms exploded last night. I started eating kimchi and probiotic yogurt yesterday. Zero sugar or gluten. I am miserable. No sleep due to severe shocks and a yeast infection that won't leave. I need a specialist! One of hundred's of website's: healing.about.com I know this is an old post but I have been having candida issues throughout withdrawal. Apple Cider Vinegar is the exception. They tell you to avoid vinegar and fermented foods because fungus thrives in acidic environments but the apple cider vinegar creates an alkaline environment. I'm not sure why exactly. All others are to be avoided but pure apple cider vinegar with the mother is a great defense tool. Hope this helps clarify

[Fa...]
I tried to use a supplement called yeast control and that did not go well. Right now I am drinking ACV to see if that helps. My doctor wants me to try Nystatin, but I am leary about trying it.
[Ma...]
I've had great improvement by using this coconut oil pulling rinse. My mouth and tongue are burning less and things are looking much better but it needs to be done on a regular basis, twice a day. Especially before you sleep. [oc...]
I have been on a couple doses of antibiotics and my tongue was starting to turn white. I was under the assumption that the antibiotics destroy all bacteria in the body good and bad. So i thought that you just replaced the good bacteria and that would help a lot of these problems. I have been taking a probiotic and drinking kefir which is supposed to have 65 strains of good bacteria in it. Anyone have any ideas on this?
