benzos killed my sexual function is this permanent

Hello this is my first post and i know this may sound unusual but benzos killed my sexual functioning. After 2 months or so of taking them i had no sex drive and could not get an erection.By the way i was on them for about 14 or 15 months! My doctor had me go to detox to get off them and did not taper me at all and now i know that was a bad idea. I am 3 months clean and still having severe withdrawal symptoms and i know i should not expect the sexual functioning to have come back if the withdrawals are not close to being over but i'm very scared its permanent. It seems now that i have been off the benzos it kind of comes and goes. is this normal?! I'm a young man my sex life can't be over please help! I need some good news right now

It will come back, I had the same problems and my gf hated me for it lol. Your nervous system is all screwed up, including your dopamine and sex hormones im sure. It will balance out. Also, the last thing for me that I wanted to do was have sex and get my heart beating harder when I'm in pain and riddled with anxiety. Once things settle down it'll come back, no worries 

When my doctor put me on zoloft and clonazepam for social anxiety I had all kinds of sexual side effects. Eventually I couldn't tolerate the MANY side effects the zoloft was giving me so I stopped taking it, but my sex drive never came back like it should have. I assumed that the zoloft had somehow messed it up and when I mentioned it to my doctor she just wanted to write me a viagra prescription. Now I know it was and is the clonazepam and it should come back when I get through WD.

 

All of these problems I complained about to my doctor reminds me of how clueless she was about benzos.

I have very low sex drive and my erections are not working to well either, and i know i shouldn't expect these problems to go away if I'm still deep in withdrawals but I'm really scared it's permanent.Now that iv'e quit it seems to kind of come and go is this normal? Please tell me some thing good I am a young man and my sex life can not be over?!

Let me say this: when I first came off benzos for the first few months at least you could have dropped a nuclear bomb down by my nether regions and NOTHING... I mean nothing. Then it went the extreme other way- just tickle me with a feather and Va-voom! THen as more time went on it became normal.. it will for you as you pull away from these savage drugs.. God Bless, Bob
