[op...]
I came across this approach while I was tapering, but didn't really try it out till I had been benzo free for about 4 months. I have to say that it took a couple of days, but it really helped me to "accept" the strange feelings that anxiety (and for me insomnia) can bring about. I'm almost 1 year benzo free now and am no longer suffering from anxiety or w/d s/x. Your mileage may vary with this approach but it's pretty simple and easy (and free). Good luck RV
[Ci...]
..the approach simplified... ...so that you don't have to listen to the man say a bunch of other things, until he, finally, gets to where he tells you what to do to do reduce your anxiety.... ....bout all he says is to close your eyes, feel where in your body you are feelin anxiety or tension....find where that energy is....listen to it.... describe it as close as you can as to how it feels without judging it... like...dull dense throbbing heavy stabbing huge stifling and so forth... don't describe it as an emotional sensation rather a physical sensation..... ...keep your eyes closed...keep focusing on the energy spot..... now...talk to it and say the followin: ...sensation, I can handle you! ...energy, you are okay to be where you are... ...feeling, I can handle your presence in my body... ....energy, I let you be as you are.... www.selftherapy.org
