did anyone's menstrual cycle stop? or became irregular?

Did anyone's period stop or became irregular from stress and anxiety?  I've always had regular periods, but mine has been coming every three or four months! (At least I'm getting one).  My hormones hate me!

Because of the stress I went through, I wasn't sleeping, which probably also contributed to the lack of cycles.

Anyone go through this?

Mine had stopped for the last couple of months of my taper and it has just came back since i jumped.. I defiantly agree it must have something to do with W/d!

I've posted this question too.  I had alot of responses saying their periods were irregular during taper and w/d.    Mine kept coming very early.  I am almost 4 months free and the last one I had came on time.  Hopefully that means I'm getting better!  Best wishes to you!

This happened to me too. It stopped completely the first month, and I  was relieved when I found it on a list of withdrawal symptoms...(somewhere on the internet, I forgot where), the second month it barely occurred.

I also tapered hard and fast at first, and that was maybe part of my problem, the slower I tapered the less severe all my symptoms got, and this is the third month and it's back to normal.

Mine are coming early every month with a lot of PMS.  So it seems normal unfortunately.  As if we didn't have enough crap to deal with!

Oh, it sure did!

During my taper, I had normal timing to my cycles but God awful PMS and cramps.

When I got down to about 1.5 mg of Valium, my period spotted and then stopped for 3 months. It just started again now that I am 6 weeks off. We'll see if it is regular.

So far, my period coming back is the only sign I have that I am healing.  :'(

Strange question, but anyone feel the ovulating going on?  I used to never feel it, but now, I can definitely tell bc I get a sharp stabbing pain in my lower right stomache...it hurts SO much, but doesn't last very long.  I have never had this. It feels like my stomache is struggling to ovulate lol. Also my symptoms are awful...no sleep, my body temp does not drop when I go to bed; I'm still really warm.  My anxiety had heightened too...

As if our w/d isn't bad enough!!  :pokey:

Yes and Yes!!

My period was always "normal" too, and the same 3-4 days, nothing major.  Since this taper off klonopin started in Nov2010 Its been crazyville.  All symptoms during PMS or Ovulation are magnified x100.  Things always ease up after those times of the month.  Im sorry hormones but Im doing good our entire body in the end!  My hormones hate me now too! Im making a appt with the ob/gyne just to go over things.....Hope your well and your not alone!

Kind Regards

Chrissy

Yes, I have had a nightmare with this.  I have been bleeding nonstop for 4 months now.  I was just writing this in my blog, but I'll go ahead and tell you girls what I found researching this.  There is an "ovarian endocrine axis" made up of the ovaries, pituitary gland, and hypothalamus (parts of the brain) that can be thrown off by drug withdrawal.  The endocrine glands in the brain become confused in withdrawal and send mixed signals to the ovaries which leads to a hormonal imbalance.  In my case, my endometrium has been told to over-produce itself.  It can't seem to figure out how to stop, so the bleeding and clumping continues.  I was just at the doctor last week with menorrhagia, which I have never experienced before.  It was very scary.  For more info, visit my blog on here: http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?topic=26597.msg530598#msg530598  I hope this helps.  Hang in there, ladies!  Things will straighten out for us eventually!

Venus,

I got a hormone test done last week.  Turns out I need to use progesterone cream.  I had gone off birth control pills last year and threw my hormones off apparently.  I probably didn't even need a benzo for sleep and anxiety - just a boost of progesterone cream!

Have you had a hormone test done?

Determined, no I haven't, but I should!  Hopefully when I see this specialist he will order one.  I did read that this problem I'm having is usually due to Estrogen dominance, and that progesterone is what they give to fix that.  I got off BC pills after being on them for 6 years just before doing my taper, and I'm guessing at this point that I probably should have just stayed on them!

I see this is an old post - but Im on my way to buy a preg test because my last period was mid July?

I have very sore breasts, frequent urination & one missed period - Ive been tapering for the past 3 weeks!  Im praying Im not pregnant with klonopin in my body!  Ill have to stop tapering today if I am indeed pregnant?  I was going to jump this week anyway - but certainly do not want to be pregnant right now!

Ill keep ya all posted.

Leahnc, wishing you the best of luck!  Make sure you talk to your doc before jumping or suddenly stopping the withdrawal.  And do keep us posted!

Leahnc,

Good luck with everything - I am sure all will be fine.  I have missed periods and also thought, could I be pregnant?  But nope, it was just w/d.  I also had a sore chest - but found out it was b/c I was PMSing - which PMS seems to magnify every tiny symptom.

I only began to taper just over a week. It also happened to be the same day I got my period, but my usual 5 days lasted for 9 days  :o

Could it have been the too quick tapering from 1mg to 0.5mg, but upped my dose once I realized it wasn't the best idea... Is this at all related or just coincidence? (I haven't been able to run for the past 5 days from feeling so ill, maybe that's what caused me to have a longer period?)
