Pushing through, or giving your body rest.

I have noticed that very simple things can really set off my symptoms, trying to go in a store, exercise, anything that requires too much mental attention. I know with CBT therapy it is encouraged to push through being uncomfortable, but this is coming from withdrawal. So should I try to push through the anxiety or give my brain time to rest. I am still trying to stabilize after trying to go to detox (worst mistake). I hadn’t even started back on my taper yet. I am slowly getting more stable everyday and then I will re-start my taper. Thanks for any advice.

I think whatever gets you through the day is what you should do but be gentle with yourself, you've had a horrific experience and you need time to get over it.  I'm not sure CBT can help when it comes to benzo induced anxiety, its in a class of it's own in terms of intensity.

I think getting stable is an excellent idea, you know now what not to do, we can't rush this process, it only hurts more when we do.
