I want to wean off Clonazepam

I joined the group because I would like to start weaning off Clonazepam. I’m currently taking .5mg daily .25mg twice a day. I have been on Clonazepam for 20 years.

Oh my, 20 years, that's a long time!  Why do you want to taper off of it, are you experiencing some unusual symptoms?  You know, some people can get off of these medications with little to no problem, so I'm hoping you're one of them.  If not, we suggest reducing your dose by about 5-10% every couple of weeks or whatever your symptoms dictate, they should guide you in order to stay functional.

No unusual symptoms. I was just very uneducated before. I did some research on the long term effects, and it really scared me.

I'm so confused on how to taper, and very scared of some of the symptoms I have been hearing about.
