high creatinine levels

My creatinine levels are high. When I went to the urgent care they said my kidneys were fine. It was in the range, but barely. Another test they had and was it over. It's dancing on the edge. Sometimes I feel lower pain in my back around the kidney area. But so far I've been told I'm fine twice. What's going on? Is there a better way to get my kidneys checked? Do I just need more water?
