Is this too fast?

Saw a new Psych yesterday who's an "addiction specialist" and here is what she suggested. I've been taking 1mg Ati for 3months and already tapering for 1 month alone got 13% done direct. Stable on my current dose but its getting hard because my scale is constantly fluctuating so i'm starting to mess up. Now she wants to do the Valium crossover like this

"Start replacing the night ativan with the liquid valium for a few days then

Switch to twice a day Valium 3.2mg=3.2ml in the dropper (which is equal to the Lorazepam 0.433mg, which is what you are taking)

After 1 week, decrease to 3mg twice a day then weekly decrease by 0.2ml twice a day"

She said hopefully by 8 weeks i'll be taking next to nothing and can jump. Does this sound too fast?

How do you feel about crossing over to Valium, is this your idea, are you dealing with interdose symptoms?

Yes it was my and her idea because yes I was feeling major interdose. I have since made the switch and physical interdose is gone but this valium is pretty strong I dont like that. I only have anxiety and racing thoughts and a bit trouble sleeping now but my new question is since this valium is turning out smoothly symptom wise whats some good body signs I can start inching down? Im using melatonin for my sleep issues and olly stress gummies to ease the anxious edge. Im at 3.2mg 2x/day.

(No lie i'm so tempted to just jump.)

Are you functioning reasonably well in your day-to-day life?  How I was functioning was the biggest gauge I used to know how I was doing.  I was never entirely symptom-free as I tapered but if I was keeping up with my responsibilities and commitments, then I felt I was holding my own.

Yes i'm pretty functional. I'm careful because I also have COVID induced POTS and its difficult to tell whats pots and whats benzo but I figure I feel crappy either way so might as well eliminate this horrible stuff from my body so I can work on the POTS. I feel I feel an increment better with every cut I eliminate from my body. I dont want to prolong it for nothing yakno but also dont wanna hit a wall and go backwards. I'm 2 months into the taper, and praying only 2 months to go!

Improving as I went along was my experience also StrongLikeThis.  My early taper days were rougher than the end -- I say that with one caveat and that is I tried jumping from 0.25mg and failed.  I reinstated after a couple days and tapered all the way down to 0.01mg which was much better.  Finding a balance between moving along but not going too fast takes some trial and error for most of us.  All the best to you as you move toward your benzo-free life!
