hydroxyzine

My psychiatrist gave me hydroxyzine to use in place of updosing for emergency panic. I am actually really scared to take this with Klonapin (I have a medication phobia). I wont even take a Tylenol unless I'm on death bed.

 

Is this SAFE? ie I'm not going to accidently die?

 

Or should I just updose in case of an emergency?

hydroxyzine is far safer than taking klonopin. You should be more afraid of the Klonopin IMO.

Yes, true as a standalone.. but what about MIXING with with K?

I have done it......not a problem, but the hydroxyzine will seem ineffective since the klonopin is so much more powerful. The worse that will probably happen is nothing which is not what you want. You actually want it to help relieve your panic in emergency situations. hydroxyzine is not very helpful for panic IMO. It is best for mild anxiety for those who are not on benzos.

I was given it one time in the ER and it did seem to help, mostly by making me too tired to care.

I bet they administered it to you via intramuscular . The pills are useless IME except for very mild anxiety.

It’s actually an antihistamine…makes me sleepy, so would be good to take at night, not so much in the day.
