benzo belly

Does anyone suffer with benzo belly? how long does pain last?

sleepyjo, I think this will vary from member-to-member.  I had some of this early in my taper and it waxed and waned but it ultimately cleared up.

I have been tapering off temazepam for the past few weeks from 10mg down to 5mg at present for 5 days. Only get about 1 1/2 hours sleep with it. Still have constant colon pain throughout the night. What do I do now to progress with tapering? Do I have to completely stop before my belly pain starts to subside? How do I cope with no sleep at all?

I am on month 8 of benzo belly. (4 months were taper...4 months off). I am MISERABLE. My other symptoms are barely noticeable at this point...I can't figure out why my stomach hasn't healed as quickly? Some people on here say theirs "comes in waves" or they "have a bad day." Mine is horrendous 24/7. It has literally wrecked my life. I am going to see a neurogastroenterologist next week. I am so eager to hear what he has to say about all of this.
