crossover from lorazapam to Tranxene

Hi, I am seeing a new Dr. on 1/10/22 because my old Dr. refused to switch me to a longer acting Benzo. It seems most Drs. do not want to switch to valium for what reason I do not know. But I am thinking that Tranxene is the next best thing and hopefully the new Dr. will switch me to a longer acting benzo, so I can continue my taper... I was wondering if anyone has crossed over to Tranxene and if so how did it go?  Was the crossover difficult? Did you have to do it slowly? The reason I want to cross over is because of the interdose withdrawals I am having. I have been in constant withdrawal for 2 months and when I told my previous Dr. this all she did was smile and shake her head. But anyway if anyone has any advice or comment about crossing over to Tranxene, it would be greatly appreciated...  Thank You!

In July 2021, we had a new member (clearsky) who was interested in tapering Tranxene.  Here’s a link to his introduction thread, including important information about Tranxene’s solubility and stability in water:

Regrettably, clearsky did not engage with the forum after his initial posts.

Also perhaps of interest in terms of the information provided about Tranxene:

Yes I remember seeing somewhere that you could not do a liquid taper with the Tranxene. I think with the Tranxene I will be able to do a dry taper and I am thinking I will only have to take it once per day instead of the twice per day like I am taking the lorazapam, so it should be much easier to dry taper it.  Thank you Libertas!
