New to Forum, Ongoing withdrawal

Hi,

I am new to the forum, and I just recently found out that some of the most unexplained and debilitating symptoms I have had for over a year now, with the peak of them being last year in the summer are the result a withdrawal from a course of clonazepam I took for 2 months or so from March to May of last year. I was completely oblivious to what benzos could do and I had been to so many healthcare facilities and specialists and done tons of medical procedures over the past year, with huge costs involved, to no avail. I randomly stumbled upon a podcast that described someone going through a similar scenario because of benzos, and only then did it hit me. They mentioned this site and so here I am to learn more. I am glad to be here and looking forward to more resources to get over this. Thanks

Hello, Texyjones - Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

I'm so glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

I went through similar experiences with unexplained debilitating symptoms.  The first time I used benzos I lost partial use of my hands.  Not realizing it was benzos, my doctor said it was carpal tunnel and I had unnecessary surgery to fix what was not actually broken.  It wasnt until I stopped benzos the first time that I made the connection.

If you haven’t already stumbled across this document, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual.  While it is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery it also lists out symptoms that you may recognize.

Are you having any symptoms now?

Again welcome,
