Spread of doses

I am taking 2 x1 mg lorazepam per day now. Morning are awful, evening not so bad. Should I dose 4 times a day 0.5mg or try to make it twice 1 mg? I am not very stable on this.  I am taking it in the am , from 6 to 9 let's say and in the afternoon, between 1 and 3 or 4. At night I have Ambien CR.
