It’s unfortunate the correspondent did not distinguish between addiction and physiological dependence. However, at least this piece acknowledges that withdrawing from benzodiazepines can be challenging.

Xanax, one of several anti-anxiety drugs, known as benzos can be addictive and ​​withdrawing from them can be grueling.
