is there any role for glutamate antagonists?

Who can help me figure out the state of our knowledge regarding interventions to regulate glutamate storm? I've seen a few people try meds that inhibit glutamate, and even claim they help, and I've seen evidence that dietary glutamate is linked to many of the sxs we experience, but so far I'm not finding any decent evidence on whether glutamate antagonists could help or harm us. I'm selfishly interested in this question for people who are OFF a benzo for a good while and still struggling enormously, but in theory it might matter to all of us. Can anyone help? I'm not getting very far from a simple search in this forum.
