Does methylphenidate (=ritalin) affect healing from a physical perspective?

I get ritalin prescriptions because of ADHD. Does methylphenidate affect your GABA-receptors? Can it have negative effects on healing during benzo withdrawal?

--> I observed that methylphenidate has no negative effects, mentally, and I'm doing pretty well while benzo withdrawal/healing. But can it damage the healing from a physical perspective?

I don't have answers but I am very interested in this as well. I've had bad PAWS for 8 months now. I just started Concerta for the first time and it's been a night and day difference with my withdrawal symptoms. I came back to the forums to search for any information on benzos, gaba, methylphenidate. I'm so grateful to have a relief from my debilitating symptoms, but I want to make sure I'm not "robbing Peter to pay Paul" and delaying my healing by substituting a different drug. (And I'm worried about developing tolerance to Concerta now and then having to taper and withdraw from that).

What has your experience been?
