“Aduhelm” discussion on its original development

Just approved for Alzheimers treatment, Aduhelm was originally in development to treat cognitive difficulties accord to cnn.

I want to “chew the fat” on this, however I’ve been searching my butt off for scholar articles on this new drug to see how it works and can’t find anything, all I keep getting is news on its FDA fast-track. Supposedly This drug was originally developed for cognitive impairment.  I’m suffering bad from benzo withdrawal and I just wonder how this drug works and what its mechanisms are....

Not that I’m going to get it nor would a doctor allow it, but any kind of hope in a cure for crying out loud.

“Instead of judging Biogen’s treatment solely on its effects on cognition, the FDA granted a conditional approval based on Aduhelm’s ability to clear the toxic proteins, called beta-amyloid. In order to continue marketing the drug, Biogen will need to complete a large clinical trial to confirm that removing the plaque has cognitive benefits, the FDA said. If that study fails, the FDA has the authority to rescind its approval.”
