Driving, Benzo in the body and a car accident?

A friend and I had a discussion. What happens? She said she has a prescription, and that saves her. But I don't think it matters. Driving under the influence of drugs? Anyone who knows? Thanks!

My understanding is having a prescription doesn't save you from getting a ticket for driving under the influence.  If the police wanted to pursue the matter, it could save you from getting arrested for possession of an illegally obtained prescription drug. 

 

If she got in an accident, having a prescription wouldn't save her, especially if she hurt someone. 

Driving under the influence could apply even if the drug was acquired/taken legally.
