[Ma...]
Hi Everyone, I am wishing to join benzobuddies so I can better support my boyfriend who has been tapering off Clonazepam. He was put on benzos last August after a traumatic experience brought him into catatonia. The benzos worked on getting him out of it but now we are still struggling on the long road of tapering. He started off on 2 mg a day when he left the hospital and now he is down to .30 mg a day, which he has been holding at since January. He would be on here perhaps but he has been too emotional the entire time to read the posts too much. Now he is also too sensitive to screens and really anything stimulating. He is also experiencing extreme agrophobia and hasn't left the house in 2 months or been on his phone. So really I am his main support at this time. Eager to learn anything that might help him stabilize. Thank you!
Guest [Ka...]
Hello Maile, welcome to BenzoBuddies, We have family members who join for the very reason you are, they want to support their loved ones. Your boyfriend had made remarkable progress with his taper! Withdrawl can be such a lonely process so we are glad you are here, both for your boyfriend and for you. Reading the posts here will give you a better understanding of what is happening. You should find this link particularly helpful: Withdrawal Support (during your taper) We certainly do have a lot of information on this site so look around and get familiar with things. Let us know what your needs are and how we can help. Best and again, welcome, Kate
[Ka...]
Hello Maile, Welcome to BB to both of you. Sorry he's had this trauma and awesome you are there to support him. Obviously his is a complex case but I think you both will find a lot of resources here to encourage and help. I searched through the support groups and see a couple related to emotional symptoms--and a Klonopin group--maybe they'll be of help. Keep reaching out to others who have been there and can offer insight. Wishing you both a good recovery.
