Micro-tapering using scale - Tips when you get to the end of a pill

I'm micro-tapering using a scale. I'm almost done tapering one pill. Unfortunately, not the end of my taper though. I'm wondering about tips on how to deal with cutting and filing such a small piece. The piece is so small it's hard to hold, it pops out of my fingers, it crumbles. Is it possible to really weight .001 or .002?

I'm not sure how that weight relates to mg of med you're taking, but at that small a dose, can you taper off completely?  If you need to dry weight and need to go lower, there are many discussions about adding cellulose materials to capsules to help.
