[Fo...]
Greetings all, Sometimes during my klonopin taper, I just don’t feel like taking the am dose. I am curious as to what the highest dose is that anyone in this group has jumped off klonopin. I am currently at 1mg per day (.5 twice daily) after 12 years of use as needed. I understand I should taper slowly but sometimes I just feel like making the jump now so I can get it all over with. Has anyone else felt like this and made an early jump from a higher dose than planned? PS: Lexapro and Gabapentin are helping with the anxiety and Remeron works very well for sleep. I know I will need to taper these meds as well but I just want this whole thing to be over with!

[je...]
Hi This is my experience not jumping but cutting, but maybe it will help? Due to a script mix up I cut from 2mg K to .25.mg. I didn't know anything about benzos. When I got sick I didn't know it was wd. After 2 weeks my dr (non prescription dr) and I figured out it was benzos. I then updosed to 1mg and stabilized. I also decided I want off the pills. The pain specialist who prescribed the pills told me to cut by 0.5mg every 2 weeks. So I did from 1mg to 0.5mg. After 4 weeks I went into severe wd that had me bedridden for 3 days. I then found BB and reinstated at 1mg. I'm now taking it very slowly because I realize the accumulated affect of both cuts were really traumatic on my body. If I did not reinstate I'm sure it would have taken much longer to be functional again. I guess the question is whether you want to be functional and minimize wd? Sometimes taking a big cut/jump can set you back longer than taking it slowly. Good luck with your journey. I know it can be frustrating.
