Caffeine drinkers have more benzo receptors?

To be fair - those rats were fed a LOT of caffeine.

But yeah - it's interesting that if we take something to calm us (benzos), our bodies compensate by making fewer receptors.  If we take something to stimulate us (caffeine), our bodies compensate by making more.

 

I used that paper to justify my continued use of caffeine (usually just one coffee) during my withdrawal.  I can't tell you if that made any difference in my healing rate (probably not).

I don't know what caffeine does exactly, the only thing I know is withdrawal from caffeine main symptoms are fatigue, sleepiness, tiredness, exhaustion.... the opposite of actual caffeine effects. So maybe...

One of the WORST headaches I ever had was after a hurricane,, had no electric so couldn't make my coffee!
