60+ years later, the FDA finally responds to 100,000s of reports of innocent patient torture and death. They finally implemented a black box warning about benzodiazepines. Old vs New

Can you believe that benzos are still considered Schedule IV drugs? Here's the definition of a Schedule IV drug:

 

"Schedule IV drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with a low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence."

I'm so glad they included the physical dependence part.  Just saying, most people that find themselves on here never had a problem with benzo addiction.  I know there's a handful of people who have, but honestly, that isn't the biggest caveat I'd like to see on the box.

I’m curious why they highlight Valium, when the other benzo’s are much more potent and dangerous? Any ideas?

 

Probably because it's from a Valium label.
