Ativan to Diazepam for the final stretch????

Sorry if this is a question that's been asked over and over.

I have reduced down from 3mg ativan to 1mg using a Daily Liquid Micro Taper. It's been a little bit bumpy but dare I say manageable. Since I hit 1mg the s@@t has really hit the fan. The side effects are absolutely hideous.

I dose 3 times a day. 9am, 2pm and 9 pm.

I am contemplating switching over to diazepam to end the taper. Has anyone else done this? Switched over as they've got lower. How did it go? And how would I dose diazepam if I'm currently on 3 doses of Ativan a day.

You may do better crossing at a lower dose. When I crossed, I was horribly depressed at first, but I felt better the lower I got on the Librium (similar to Valium).
