I’m driving again!

You guys this is huge for me!

 

Ever since the summer of 2020 I could not drive any longer due to taper withdrawals

Then I jumped and it got so bad that anything other than the gas station up the street was a panic attack just waiting to pounce

 

February 25th I drove to my dads which is across town about 15 min and I just said “if this kills me, it kills me”

 

It worked!

 

Training the amygdala by exposure therapy is such a great thing and it really works!

 

Still dealing with random insomnia but things are looking up!

 

March 20th will be 7 months since I jumped and I can finally freaking drive!!!

Awesome - Every little step in this fight is a big step. I remember I was scared to go mail box and now I am going stores. gas stations  :thumbsup:

Congratulations! It's a big deal to move through that medication induced agoraphobia.

 

I couldn't leave my apartment for around 6 months and now I go anywhere I want.

 

 

This is wonderful! Congratulations. I'm not allowed to drive for one year due to having seizures when I came off the benzos, so that will be up in July. Really hot they let me drive again at that point. I think I am well enough and I haven't had any seizures since coming off it. Well done you, it's really inspirational to hear this.
