[Po...]
I’ve been using this relaxation technique for panic attacks since I started my taper (Klonopin ). When I described it to my doctor, she said, “Super! You’re doing Autogenic Relaxation.” I lie on the floor (or in bed) deep, soft, breaths. And not just visualize, but “talk” my way through it: My forehead is loosening...it’s soft. The back of my head is sinking, melting into the floor... I do that for my cheeks, my eyes, my mouth (let your jaw go slack), then your neck and shoulders. By the time your toes are “sinking into the bed,” you will, hopefully, be half asleep. Hope this helps!
