Where can I find an informative article to let family know how bad this is?

Isn't there any information out on the web anywhere that really lets famiy and friends know what we are experiencing and to let them know just how long healing can take?

 

Everything I see mentions "Addiction" in the articles, and this is definitely not addiction!  Things such as this really give a false impression to our loved ones. We only took our medication as directed by our physicians and as prescribed, I was never addicted to it!

 

Can anyone please tell me where I can find articles/information that informs those in our lives just what exactly this is like for us without falsely mentioning addiction?

This is the one I've used.  While not everything applies and it leaves out things we may experience.  I think it explains things in a way that delineates the dependency vs addiction issue although maybe not explicitly.  It does explain iatrogenic illness

Benzo information coalition (BIC) has a lot to offer for info. they even have a thing for providers to read. The one who started it was actually a doctor who went through this and is now committed to creating awareness.
