I have it too.  I am almost 55 and it can happen with age (according to my eye doctor)but also is a SX of w/d.  I use Systne eye dropís the purple bottle that are oil based every couple hours daily, as needed.  It helps.  I notice a huge difference if I am not using them.

If you get insomnia from withdrawal, your eyes are opened for longer periods  and subject to dry air meaning dry eyes.
I find my eyes are drier since I am going through withdrawal and sometimes drops don't even help?
You may want to try a humidifier in the bedroom, which may help your eyes?  They come in cool mist and warm mist.  .
