Hi all, just wanted to let everyone know I've tapered down from 24mgs of clonazepam a Day to 2mgs , I'm now on hold as WDs got too intense and just a slew of bad stuff, but I've learned alot in that year of tapering in all sorts of idea's, home remedies (actually a mod thought it was a good idea I do this as I mentioned catnip tea lol) plus the general situation of You're not alone in this. Weather it be 24 or 1mg it all feels like hell When on for extend time and we're in this together, so thought I'd start this thread as a shoutout to anyone going through a taper or WDs due to addiction, I'm not here to judge, just for support and hopefully everyone else vice versa!  :smitten::thumbsup:

Ok pause...I thought the catnip tea was amusing...I am not saying to promote it. We have to be so careful in this recovery process as many ppl have problems taking any supplements or holistic remedies as our CNS is not necessarily responding to things as it normally would.

Some ppl find relief with some things/foods where others do not.

For example me...it seems to be if I look or lick a med the wrong way I get put in a wave. But for some reason I can eat dark chocolate no problem and others swear it is the devil for them.

DJC86..I was just referring you to this board for overall support as a new member, which I hope you will find here! It sounds like you have a lot to offer as well :smitten:

That's awesome! Settle in and check out the different threads. I am sure you'll recognise plenty of the problems and be able to offer some good advice. In particular, members struggling with addiction are in a minority here but there are some. I try to help when they pop up because I think I have a little to offer and it doesn't seem like there are many here who know how to help. In truth, I'm not the best person to give advice about addiction. I'm one of those people who will self report having an "addictive personality" and sometimes it gets me into trouble... but real addicts would find my stories of "addiction" laughable. As someone who has made it from 24mg to 2mg clonazepam, you have serious credibility. I'm sure your advice will be especially welcome in these special cases and you may find a friend or two also.

  • 2 weeks later...

Carnival tea is actually able to be bought... but like any herbal supplement or remedies like say velarian Root tea Yes should be checked out with a dr or nurse/pharmacist before using..I got velarian Root tea and it caused alot of stomach upset.. other's use it all the time with no issues...so yeah definitely check first...

Side note I'm now at 600mgs of GABA a day going to 500mgs Monday as it was causing alot of adverse side effects... but looking like I'm alot more settled down with that decreased,... Also going to be switched slowly to diazepam instead of clonazepam for last bit at a .5mg-10mg ratio... then -1/8th every 2 weeks.. this is after seeing a psychiatrist and in tandem with my Suboxone dr who actually prescribes my clonazepam and us an addiction specialist... but things are looking up but still not out of the woods yet...but definitely feeling alot better!

How could a person live on 24 mg a day?  I would think a horse couldn’t take that much.  Where were you able to get it all from?  I am having an awful time on my last one mg.  Every time I try to go below it I get horrendous symptoms.

What were some of your physical symptoms?

Thank you.

My Doc the other day told me about a patient he had who came to him on 26 mgs of xanax a day. That's what's so crazy about benzos, I guess your body adjusts to higher and higher doses. I feel fortunate that I refused to go up when the docs always wanted me to. But, the good news is that anyone can get off of them no matter how high the dose with enough time.
