Valium and Benadryl

Is it safe to take Benadryl at night with Valium? I have just started all Valium and tapering. I  need some help sleeping and I don’t know if the melatonin made me have anxiety attacks at 5:30 this morn.

early morning anxiety attacks can be related to increased cortisol in the morning.

 

I'm not sure about benadryl...but I did take hydroxyzine at one point when getting off ativan to help me settle to sleep. Just know you may feel groggy the next day and be foggy headed. But it is safe.
