Thyroid and Benzos

I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I know my TSH numbers shot through the roof while I was on benzos, and went back down to regular high when I got off. No doctor said anything; no one noticed, which is to be expected. So I know there is some association. Can anyone tell me if benzo hell could have triggered my Hashimoto's?

And why my TSH climbed so high while I was on benzos?

I also know that according to holistic/integrative docs, a damaged gut and thyroid problems go hand in hand. Well, benzos damaged my gut - that's clear to me. So did it cause my thyroid to get worse also?

Any recommendations for a top quality holistic thyroid doc in NYC?

I'm so overwhelmed, and I feel so sick all the time.
