Glutamate in skincare products

Is it possible for Glutamic Acid to get absorbed through the skin? I started using a shower gel with disodium cocoyl glutamate in it and ever since then i have been feeling a little worse.

Maybe.  I wouldn't think that much could get in, but there are claims that glutamate from shampoo permeates the skin.  If it's like magnesium (epson salts), damn little gets thru.  I haven't found a good refereed reference article yet.  Maybe consider trying a different shampoo next time you wash your hair and compare results.

I reacted to facial serum. I believe it is the alcohol in it.

 

Majority of hygiene products and cosmetic contain alcohol.

 

How did you find out glutamate is in cosmetics?
