NEVER looking back

I took my last dose of Diazapam on 6/6/20.  I had been on 0.5mg of Xanax for 14 years.  My doctor, at the time, told me  I’d probably never be able to get off it. This was a good party line for the fact she didn’t know how to help me taper.  I read the Ashton manual and she refused to cross me over to V.  In July, 2019, I crossed over to 10mg V through a different provider. I did a very slow micro taper to 0.25mg, then done. Thank God I was able to continue to teach throughout the taper.  I believe it was a great distraction because the only thing that truly helps me right now is “getting out of my head.”
