Ambien 10 Mg ~80 Days

Found this site through an advocate from her who posted on reddit.

I am on ambien 10mg and have been for about 80 days.

Haven’t tapered.

Sleep issues started with the onset of the covid crisis.

Am on ambien and want to get off.

Welcome to Benzo Buddies. The COVID virus can be a very dangerous disease, the events of the past months has certainly caused stress for many people.

I think you are making a good decision to stop taking Ambien sooner, rather than later. The longer you stay on the drug, the stronger the possibility for physical dependence.  While not exactly a benzo, drugs like Ambien do affect the nervous system in the same manner and will need to be tapered.

How quickly will depend on how you feel. Normally a reduction of no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days is suggested. I'll give you a link to the Planning Your Withdrawal Board for additional information.  If it were me I'd likely try a 10% reduction first and if that presents problems with strong withdrawal effects, then I would slow the taper down.
