Temazepam tapering and finding more information on this medication

I've been on 30mg Temazepam for 5+ years. My psychiatrist recommends that I go from 30mg/day down to 22.5mg/day and hold for a month, then to 15mg/day and so on. Everything I read seems to point to a much a more gradual taper, but I seldom come across anything related to tapering off of Temazepam specifically. Why is this? Is this drug not frequently prescribed? Do folks generally have an easier time coming off of it? I've scoured the internet for information about Temazepam tapering/withdrawal and the stories about this benzo in particular are few and far between.

Do you still need our help, I'm sorry no one answered your questions.  I've seen many members taper from Temazepam, you can use the search function here to find their journeys.  But you're right, it's not as popular as many other benzo's.

 

Your Dr's suggestion is too fast, you're right, this will lead to harsh unnecessary withdrawal symptoms, please get back to us so we can help you figure out a plan.
