New U.K. Guidance on Dependence & WD for therapists

Not sure of this has already been put up.

There is new guidance backed by the British Psychologocal Society and other relevant organisations for therapists and counsellors working with clients on psychiatric medication or in WD.

It might be useful for ppl to also use with Drs etc.

I would mention that this is a document for psychologists, and that the reaction from the elite psychiatric community was swift, feverish, and hyperbolic. They absolutely hated some of the language, generally over minor things, all of which they were astonishingly wrong about. It was criticized from the very highest levels, including the president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. In my opinion, and of everyone who actually read the document without disciplinary blinders, it is a helpful and thoughtful read, that could help therapists and patients in their attempts to both understand and taper off medications.

If people knew some of the characters who opposed its publication, then that would be all the recommendation one would need for believing it a document of real value.
