Depakote taper help needed

Was on 2mg Ativan for decade and got it down to 0.5mg ~May 2019

I want to get off 1000mg Depakote now, can find very little info even on this board!!

I know not benzo but still...

 

1) Should I try and finish Ativan taper before starting Depakote one?

 

I tried to go to .025 Ativan but felt edgy shoulda tried longer than a week though obviously and I’m sure titration or at least a shot in dark cutting little nibbles off plan would be better (.5 smallest dose and are very small and brittle and no don’t feel like switching to Valium )

 

So if you think answer to question 1 is yes or even maybe then:

 

2) from Depakote 2x500mg (1 in am and 1 in pm) should I go to 250mg/day three times or just 500 am and 250 pm?

 

Rx shrink is $200/15 minutes so F that! and finding new one impossible where I live now.

For medicines that aren't benzos, you should try posting on Other Medications.  I would also recommend the site SurvivingAntidepressants. They deal with polydrugging there. I found info about tapering gabapentin there that I found very helpful.
