[...]
Can benzo withdrawal cause sleep apnea?
[Me...]
Diagnosed with apnea while on Lexapro ... what followed was CPAP, Lunesta and valium. New sleep study after off lexapro for 18 months and lunesta for 8 years - no apnea. Benzos relax muscles so the benzo in your system would be a factor in apnea. [Pt...]
I'm pretty sure I have central sleep apnea. I often have nightmares where it's linked to me not taking a breath and it wakes me up
[Me...]
Have a sleep study done if you're worried. In benzo w/d it's possible to convince yourself you have any and every disease imaginable.
[...]
I think I’m going to do a sleep study soon. Can’t hurt. Something I just thought of - for the first year and a half, I would randomly choke on saliva and have coughing fits because of it. It would happen when I was dozing off sometimes, but would also happen when I was wide awake, just randomly. Never had this before in my life. I wonder if my throat muscles have been affected and it has led to apnea.
[Me...]
I've had the choking thing along with a time when I couldn't eat without chewing the inside of my mouth. Also had trouble swallowing. Lost a bit of weight during that period.
[Pt...]
Oh ur a sound more like obstructive sleep apnea. Could be a muscle issue.
