Reclaiming My Time

Hello Buddies!

I have wanted to write this for two months now, and every time I get ready to some crazy symptoms that had left would rear its ugly head. I have decided to stop sitting around waiting to heal 100% but to reclaim my life and start doing things even if it is uncomfortable. I had many symptoms in the beginning especially in detox (see my signature). All I have left is a fear of driving on the highway, Low body temperature, Low BP, High HR upon standing, exercise intolerance, burning skin at night and when I am active during the day, still cannot handle stress, brain tremors, internal tremors (both are better). In the process of finding a thyroid specialist to see if my thyroid may be causing low BP and Body temp. Hard to do because the only Endocrinologist we had in my small town got fired.

My worst symptoms of severe fatigue, ruminating thoughts, anger etc. were only in the first month or so. It is strange but I cannot remember a lot of my symptoms. I still have to pace myself if not I will be down in the recliner for 3 or 4 days to recover. I will never forget when I stumbled upon BB in a panic and was told to taper and not go to rehab. Needless to say none of it registered in my brain. LOL. Even the CBT I had in Detox during those 23 or 21 days I did not remember any of it when I left. One good thing was that even though they knew nothing about benzos, I was treated like a Queen. They made sure I had the best food, care and nice room with housekeeping etc. I paid a hefty price out my pocket for it though. I still keep in touch with some of the staff and clients that were there with me.

Not fully healed, but I am grateful for what I have so i am going to take it and run.

Still visiting the site and always, always, always praying for each and every one of us!!!  :smitten: :smitten:

Preachergirl congratulations!!!!! and thank you for sharing your story with us, I wish you continued healing and all the best with reclaiming your life:))) do you mind sharing what symptoms have left for you? did you have a lot of mental symptoms? And it's so did they all resolve? Is your memory completely back now and you just don't remember the events of the withdrawal or do you still continue to recover memory-wise?

Kathy, my memory is so much better now, but for some reason it is hard to remember all the symptoms. I will list what i remember and also wrote some down a long time ago. I have recovered from ear pain, tinnitus, hypersensitivity where any little noise would cause me to jump out my skin, low blood glucose, pain under the rib cage on right side, insomnia, bad anxiety, Jelly legs, exhaustion, heart palpitations, looping thoughts, memory loss, head pressure. I am sure I forgot some but these are what i remember. I had both mental and physical but they were not severe. I kept to a routine from beginning to now and learned how to distract and always showing gratitude for the good days.

Hang in there!
