Last Day of a (So Far) Successful Taper

(Much of the body of this post is a repeat of a post I just made in the Post-Withdrawal group, but I thought I'd post here as well in case anyone wanted to read my story.)

Dear Buddies, it's been a long freakin' road. Granted, for me it was only since January 2019 that I was dependent on benzos. It was Xanax at first, then I substitute tapered with Lorazepam. (Read through my admittedly sparse post history to see the wherefore's and the how's)

Today, dear friends, was the last day of my taper. I don't wanna count my chickens before they hatch, but completing this phase of my recovery feels amazing, if still a little bit frightening. Intrusive thoughts of "Oh shit! I need to take a pill NOW!" and other such lovely bits of anxiety are still happening, yeah, but I have a great psychologist and we're making progress.

I'll stick around and keep y'all updated because I have a pill mill for a psychiatrist at the moment, but right now he's all I got. Ask me anything if you're curious.

Onward, with pride!
