Pain meds- set back? Long term? Anyone use them?

  I am almost 4 months off of Valium, liquid microtaper that took a year. I took it, low doe, for about 1.5 years before that for muscle spasms, until I realized how awful it was.

    I see a pain doc, and I have multiple prescriptions. I still suffer from debilitating muscle spasms and migraines. They are about a million times worse because of stupid benzo withdrawal.

    My question is: has anyone used pain meds long term? Do you think they negatively affected your healing?

I keep a diary, and I’ve tracked my own symptoms. I can’t tell! I get waves, but I don’t know if they are tied to other meds, or just part of the whole process. Thanks for any input!!
