Tapering off Xanax (Neurol)

[Hi...]

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have only recently discovered this forum and find it extremely interesting and useful.

For about 20 years I have been on Luvox ( Fevarin) for OCD and depression, as well as on Xanax (called Neurol in my country).

About 2 months ago I decided to try tapering off Xanax. My dosage has been 2mg a day, one pill in the morning and another one before bed.

This is the second time I've tried a taper, last year I gave after two months. At the moment I am 0.75 mg twice a day, while I was able to get down to 0.5 twice a day holding only a month and a half before upping the dosage.

Hope I can find help and support on this forum.

Ivan

Tapering is the safest, and most tolerable method for getting off of benzo's. Here is our taper info:

The max recommended cut is 5-10% every 2 weeks. Many of us have to go slower, depending on our medication and what we can handle. Here are the boards on tapering. Feel free to print out anything you wish, and share it with your doctor.
